How do I clean my cork bag?

Can cork bags get wet?
Yes. Cork is naturally water-resistant, so light rain or splashes won’t damage your bag. If your bag becomes wet, simply wipe it dry with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry naturally.
Is cork durable enough for everyday use?
Absolutely. Cork is a remarkably durable natural material that has been used for centuries. It is lightweight, flexible, scratch resistant and naturally resilient.
Like all natural materials, cork can show signs of wear over time, particularly in areas subject to repeated rubbing, folding or creasing. Avoid repeatedly folding or sharply creasing your bag in the same place, and take care not to overfill or place unnecessary stress on the material.

Can I carry a laptop or other heavy items in my cork bag?
Our tote bags can be used to carry everyday items, including laptops, provided care is taken with heavier or rigid items. As our cork bags are designed to be lightweight and flexible, some styles have an unstructured base and are not designed specifically as laptop bags.
When carrying a laptop or other heavier item regularly, we recommend using a bag organiser or firm base insert to help distribute the weight and maintain the bag's shape. Avoid allowing the bag to sag or repeatedly fold or crease in the same area, as prolonged stress on one point can cause premature wear.
My bag has picked up colour from clothing. What should I do?
Occasionally darker fabrics - especially new denim or heavily dyed clothing - can transfer colour onto lighter bags when there is friction. This is known as dye transfer and can happen with many materials, including leather. Because cork has a protective surface, the colour usually sits on top and can often be gently removed by wiping with warm water and mild soap.
